THE HURT LOCKER
Posted by wolf on Monday Jan 18, 2010 Under UncategorizedJust saw an amazing movie, as a Paintballer, and as a guy who has friends in service, this movie is a must see, it goes over the minset of ARMY E.O.D., instant classic, its not as much action as BLACK HAWK DOWN, but its just as gripping.
Also keep an eye out for “THE PACIFIC”, its almost like a Sequal to the Amazing “BAND OF BROTHERS”, it will be intense and realistic, feel free to comment if you saw the Locker, i’d like to know what you guys thought.
For other must see movies check my SP8 review video on youtube, or on here,
See you in the Tall Grass

I totally agree that the movie Hurt Locker is a must watch. Great story line. It affected all 3 of the main soldiers in that movie in a different way and It showed the reality of what soldiers go through down there. I rented the movie and watched it three times before returning. It’s a definite must see. Anyone want to put out some paintball mines so I can attempt to disarm?
Oh well supprt the troops out the everyone Lil Huss out..woooyaw

Bought the blue ray. Solid movie with a great story line. Characters were real and believable. I’ll end up watching this many times over. Support ‘em or stand in front of them. HOO-EH!

Wolf, I loved the movie. It was little known I guess. I didnt get allot of TV commercial time. Maybe cause its a unkown cast? But I was very impressed and suprised how good it was. I hear its now up for a Academy award for Best Movie! I hope it wins.

Saw the movie last night…(21 year arrmy vet…I a have served tours in Iraq and Afganistan)Good story did not strike me as paticularly realistic; for one thing where was the QRF and air support for the troops in contact during the sniper scene? 2nd it is very improbable that EOD would be outside the wire without infantry support. Also, that a soldier with enough discipline to promote to SFC would venture outside the wire against all procedural directives. Alchohol is banned for soldiers on deployment….E-7 drinking down range risking his carreer…think not.. Story could have closer reflected reality without compromising hollywood apeal I’ll jump off my high horse now and say it was a good piece of fiction with good action scenes but I hope that people dont get the idea that this is the way the vast majorty of soldiers behave over there.

I totally agree with SFC Riv. As a service member myself and a medic; well a decent hollywood-ified film and totally unrealistic. If you were lookin at it from a realism stand point, its a terrible movie. Yet if your are looking at it from a hollywood never served POV; well that speaks for it self.
